What’s New in the ResQ App: Fixes, Features & Smarter Rescuing

We launched the renewed ResQ app in April, and since then, we’ve been working hard to improve the experience based on your feedback. Here’s a look at some of the most useful updates and what we’ve been working on lately.

New app, with new and improved features. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but along the way, we also encountered new challenges. The rebuild gave us a more flexible foundation, but we know some things didn’t work as smoothly as expected. Over the past few months, we’ve been fixing bugs, polishing features, and making the app easier to use.

What’s been fixed (and why it matters)

One of the most common things we’ve heard since the relaunch is: “This thing used to work, and now it doesn’t.” Fair. When rebuilding the app, certain bugs and missing functions slipped through. But we’ve been steadily closing the gap—and improving the overall experience at the same time.

Some examples:

– No more mystery pins: Venue names now show up on the map when you zoom in close enough.

– On Android, we fixed a performance issue that made the app feel slow when location wasn’t shared.

– The favorites view now displays available offers, so you don’t have to tap into each one.

– Selection of multiple dietary preferences now works seamlessly.

– We’ve reintroduced notifications from saved locations, a popular feature that’s now back in the latest release.

If it sounds like a lot of small stuff—it is. But small things add up when you’re trying to use the app quickly in everyday life. Many of these fixes are a direct result of user feedback, and we’re grateful to everyone who’s taken the time to share theirs.

ResQ hack: Save locations while you’re traveling

Since notifications from saved locations are back, here’s a tip: you can add places other than your current location and get notified about nearby offers. That means you can set up alerts for your summer cottage, your next travel destination, or a city you visit often.

Perfect for summer trips, weekend getaways or just making sure you don’t miss a deal in your hometown when you’re out and about somewhere else.
